A computer network comprising at least two computers connected together with a media so that these computers can share resaourceand communicate with each other. In general, a network typicallyconsists of multiple computers. network is a collection of definitionsof computer and pheriperal (printers, ploter, scanners, modems, etc.)which connect to each other through either cable or communications media that can communicate wirelessly.
Computer networks arises from the need to share data among the users. Computers have the ability to produce several types ofinformation in the form of data, spreadsheets or graphics. Without anetwork, documents can be shared to other users by giving a file of documents saved to disk. Diskte contents are then copied to anotherof Computer hard drive. When other users make changes to the data,the changes may not be combined. The scenario above is better known by the term stand alone. Inter-PCs have not been able toconnect to each other and communicate with each other resource.
